The association of mechanics involving interradicular mini-implants made possible a simple alternative of anchorage to orthodontic treatment, generating modernity, advancement for orthodontics in recent years, great versatility and many doubts to orthodontists regarding its use during clinical practices, mainly on the correct choice of installation location. The technique, when properly elaborated, helps the professional to obtain expected results, but when there are execution errors, there can be loss of control and case failure. This review aims to guide professionals about the mini-implant insertion sites in the main clinical applications, basing the characteristics, indications, contraindications, and complications during and after installation of this device, emphasizing the elaboration of the planning without mistakes and hygiene care. To this end, it is based on scientific and clinical evidence already carried out, in order to show the locations that can be used to introduce the mini-implant in a given case. The literature shows anchorages successfully achieved through this new technique, more specifically considered by the successes achieved with the appropriate introduction sites, offering support in the use of this device in the clinical routine.
