Abstract

The anterior crossbite is a malocclusion that results from the lingual positioning of the anterosuperior teeth in relation to the anteroinferior teeth, which can affect patients in the different stages of the dentition (deciduous, mixed and permanent). It is one of the problems that most affects the stomatognathic system of the patient, affecting self-esteem, function, and being the cause of joint problems, it can be classified as dental, functional or skeletal. The objective of this work was to describe a protocol used to correct crossbite dento-functional anterior view of a 12-year-old patient with mixed dentition, with a Class III molar key. The fixed inclined plane (PIF) was used to promote the initial uncrossing and the Ricketts base arch of advancement to promote an advance of the correct jaw and overjet and overbite. The protocol used in the treatment resulted in the correction of the anterior crossbite and the obtaining of molar keys in Class I.
