The permanent upper canines, after the third molars, present a greater incidence of impaction, especially in the palatal region, even in the presence of sufficient space for their alignment in the dental arch. In the impossibility of early diagnosis, since patients do not seek treatment for impaction, but for the effects they cause in the arch, efforts will be used to reposition the tooth in the dental arch, avoiding its extraction, given its importance in balance, harmony and function of the dental arch. In undiagnosed or inadequately treated cases, mechanical, infectious or neoplastic disorders may occur. The prognosis depends on the position of the canine in relation to the adjacent structures and the possibility of orthodontic movement.
