The versatility of ultrasound in endodontics: literature review

The use of ultrasound at different stages of treatment endodontic has been disseminated in the literature as a means of facilitating the execution of some procedures, existing on the market several equipment and specific tips for the specialty. The objective of this work was to carry out a literature review about the different applications of ultrasound in endodontics and its possible contributions to the improvement of success rates. With this objective, a search was carried out in Bireme, SciELO, PubMed and Academic Google databases, including publications in portuguese and english between 2006 and 2020. After performing this review, it was considered that ultrasound can be a tool for great value for the dental surgeon in order to facilitate the execution of some procedures in endodontics, from access surgery to paraendodontic surgery.
