Abstract

Some pathological lesions, such as stomatitis and candidiasis, can be observed in patients who use dental prostheses, almost always indicating the need to improve their hygiene and disinfection. Therefore, this study aims to review the literature on procedures for cleaning dentures. The literature review is adopted as a research method, aiming to gather recent material available in journals. It appears that brushing is the most used technique for accessibility, however, it requires manual dexterity and great care so that all grooves are cleaned and microorganisms removed.
