Endodontic treatment consists of several interdependent steps, from the coronal opening, which aims to provide the most rectilinear access possible to endodontic instruments between the pulp chamber and the apex of the root canals, ending with the obturation of the canals, in order to maintain or restore pulp and periradicular health. During each stage of endodontic treatment, there are setbacks that can negatively influence the success of endodontic therapy, and it is up to the professional to have the knowledge and skills necessary to solve the situation, and above all, to prevent these episodes from occurring. This article aims to describe the most common accidents and complications in each stage of endodontic treatment, as well as their etiology, damage and management in cases of their occurrence.
