Influence of the integrative action of ozoniotherapy on orofacial harmonization

Abstract

Ozone is an important oxidative agent, with bactericidal, fungicidal and virustactic effects. Depending on the concentration of ozone and oxygen, ozone therapy can treat problems of inflammatory, infectious and tissue repair origin, mainly linked to oxidative stress. Recognizing the numerous actions of ozone in the treatment of infections and inflammation, ozone therapy began to benefit patients in dentistry and medicine. Based on the above, the aim of this article is to analyze, through a literature review, the influence of the integrative action of ozone therapy on orofacial harmonization. From this bibliographic review it was possible to demonstrate a little more the effectiveness of ozone as an adjuvant to any orofacial harmonization procedure.
