Abstract

Both fixed and removable implant-supported prostheses are well-established methods for replacing missing teeth in partially or totally edentulous patients. Implant-supported complete dentures are considered a favorable option to completely rehabilitate edentulous patients with a smaller number of implants, in a less invasive and cost-effective way. High success rates for implant-retained prostheses have been reported with 5 years of follow-up, ranging from 95% to 100%. The objective of this work is to review the current literature addressing the prosthetic perspective of the advantages and benefits of implant-supported complete dentures.
