Abstract

The maintenance of implant-supported prostheses is extremely importante for the long-term success of the treatment. Once installed in the mouth, it is necessary for the patient to know how to maintain oral hygiene, cleaning the edges of the prosthesis, its components and teeth correctly. It is the role of the dentist to teach and promote all the necessary means for the patient to be capable of tis hygiene. In turn, the patient’s constant visit to the office allows the dentist to monitor and be prepared to maintain or improve the care of the prosthesis. The objective of this work  is to gather information that a dentist may need to maintain the protocol and instruct his patient about the necessary care.
