Lateral incisor agenesis can significantly compromise smile aesthetics, which motivates the patient to seek orthodontic treatment. In view of the impossibility of rehabilitating the agenesis space with implants in growing patients, the correction of the problem with space closure is quite interesting. To present the orthodontic technical maneuvers to approach the bilateral agenesis of Superior Lateral Incisors by space closure. Closure mechanics are varied, according to the type of associated anteroposterior discrepancy and, consequently, anchorage. However, the results of this approach are esthetically and functionally satisfactory and stable. When planning the treatment of malocclusions associated with bilateral agenesis of permanent upper lateral incisors by space closure, the orthodontist should consider the gingival biotype, characteristics of the periodontal support tissue, level of aesthetic demand and the patient's expectation regarding treatment time, as well as the need for different anchoring systems, according to the existing anteroposterior discrepancy.
