The invisibility of health care in the black population

To analyze and discuss the access to health care and the oral health of the Afro-Brazilian population. Study type review of narrative literature, carried out based on books, theses and articles from Bireme data bank; published between 2016 and 2020; in Portuguese language using the descriptors: health, black population, access to healthcare services. Based on the research carried out according to the literature, it was observed that the oral health of the white population in relation to the Afro-Brazilian and the grayish-brown population is centered on the socioeconomic conditions, present higher values among the Afro-Brazilian population, which is in considerably worse economical condition in relation to the white population. In which such fragility is the result of the difficulties concerning the acces of such groups to the treatment. The damages caused to the oral and general health of the Afro- Brazilian were related to the health determinants, the implementation of the National Policy for the Integrative Health of the Black Population, facilitated measures to promote integral health, being able to reduce the damages of racial inequalities fighting racism and discrimination in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) as well as minimize the maladies in general.
