The loss of the dental element countless times is followed by bone resorption. In the posterior region of the maxilla, mainly due to the presence of the maxillary sinus, this resorption combined with the pneumatization of the sinus itself is capable of preventing the installation of dental implants due to the low bone height. In view of this situation, some patients need surgery to lift the maxillary sinus using biomaterials to promote bone growth in this region.
