Abstract

To describe the flow of care, especially the occurrences of emergencies and urgencies more related to the planning, execution and maintenance of dental care related to dental prosthesis, given the context of Covid-19. The design chosen was a literature review narrative type. The search for articles was performed digitally, in the Virtual Health Library, Scientific Electronic Library Online and Google Scholar databases, using the following descriptors: Prosthodontics; Dental Prosthesis, Dental Prosthesis Planning; Coronavirus Infections; Urgent Care. Publications related to the objectives listed in this research were included, articles in portuguese or english, published in the last 10 years, available in full text. Duplicate articles were excluded. According to the analysis of the reviewed literature, the most recurrent design of publications was guidelines, service protocols and scientific articles. It was possible to point out that the urgencies most present in dental care related to dental prosthesis were the unsuitability of fracture/breaking of removable partial/total dentures or even temporary and permanent dentures. With regard to the indicated procedures, adjustment/relining, bleeding control, adaptation of provisional, in addition to cementation, were most reported. Among the measures to minimize their occurrence, prevention with a careful anamnesis and careful installation of different types of prosthetic devices must be present in the routine of dentist surgeons since the pandemic, caused by Covid-19.
