Abstract

Class III malocclusion is caused by the discrepancy in the relationships between the skull base, maxilla and mandible, that is, the patient may have their maxilla retruded in relation to the skull base, a protruded mandible or both being in disharmony. These conditions affect the individual's speech, chewing, swallowing and especially facial aesthetics, causing psychosocial problems from childhood. This work aims to carry out a literature review on Class III treatment in mixed dentition with maxillary protraction and Petit mask.
