Abstract

Impacted maxillary canines always demonstrate challenging treatment, especially when they are in an unfavorable position or in close relationship with the roots of the maxillary incisors. There are several treatment options that range from the permanence of the canine to its tooth extraction. In order to obtain a good treatment, early diagnosis is essential. Currently, a new method has been highlighted for traction of canine impacted by the vestibular, this involves the use of the technique: Vertical Incision Subperiosteal Tunnel Access (Vista), a less invasive technique. Thus, the present work aims to report the Vista protocol, its objective, purpose, advantages and disadvantages. It is concluded that, although this is a relatively new technique, when properly indicated, it proves to be very effective in the traction of canines impacted by vestibular.
