Rehabilitation of atrophic edentulous mandible with implants - clinical case report

Abstract

Currently, tooth loss is still a reality in a large part of the population. In addition to affecting masticatory function, it also affects patients' self-esteem. Over time, the edentulous area becomes increasingly atrophied, making it difficult to use mobile prostheses, and, in extreme cases, making it difficult to install implants due to the bone in the region is fragile. The rehabilitation of lower total arches using an implant-supported prosthesis fixed on four implants has proven to be highly effective, presenting lower cost and shorter working time when compared to the technique that uses 6 implants. This work reports the clinical case of rehabilitation of an atrophic jaw through the fixation of four implants.
