Abstract

The All-on-Four technique, applied to the maxilla, represents a significant advance in oral rehabilitation. This revolutionary approach consists of fixing a complete prosthesis onto four strategically positioned dental implants. Its indications cover edentulous patients or patients with compromised dentition, providing functional and aesthetic stability. The benefits stand out for reducing treatment time, less need for bone grafts and accelerated recovery. However, when treating the maxilla with All-on-Four, anatomical challenges are imminent. The complex anatomy of the region, with maxillary sinuses and porous bone, requires careful evaluation to avoid complications. The precise selection of implant insertion points is crucial to ensure adequate support of the prosthesis. Furthermore, the professional must consider the anatomical variability between patients, adapting the technique according to individual needs. Despite the anatomical challenges, the All-on-Four technique in the maxilla remains a valuable option, offering an effective and efficient solution for complete oral rehabilitation. The objective of this article is to understand and discuss the indications and benefits of applying the All-on-Four technique in atrophic jaws, and compare the efficiency of this technique to other approaches recommended for this type of rehabilitation.
