Collagen is the main protein responsible for maintaining the structure of the skin and its production is affected with aging. Collagen biostimulators are being increasingly used to increase collagen production and smooth facial expression lines, including poly-L-lactic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite. Thus, this study aims to describe what the literature points out about the use of collagen biostimulators in orofacial harmonization, specifically those of the poly-L-lactic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite type. This is an integrative literature review, through articles contained in the BVS and PubMed databases, using the terms in portuguese and english as keywords: "collagen", collagen biostimulators", "orofacial harmonization” and " dermal fillers.” After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 16 articles were considered eligible to compose this work. The literature describes that the effectiveness of biostimulators is associated with current techniques and well-planned application, with benefits such as neocolagenesis, effects prolonged periods and improvement of the skin.
