The use of immediate implants is a manifestation of advances in the field of implant dentistry, and although studies have focused more precisely on their application in the anterior region, this treatment can also show beneficial results when inserted in posterior areas, especially in the region of the molars. Therefore, the study aimed to analyze the use of immediate implant, with emphasis on the posterior region. As materials and methods, a theoretical survey was carried out in LILACS, SciELO and PubMed databases, selecting fourteen scientific articles published between the years 2013 to 2021, which met the purposes of the research. The results show that the use of immediate implants is increasing, with several benefits, such as reduced treatment time, promotion of adequate osseointegration, in addition to ensuring the quality of life and well-being of the patient, with few studies indicating ineffectiveness and/or unsatisfactory results. In the end, it was concluded that the use of immediate implants presents a series of benefits, with the occurrence of high rates of success and survival.
