Immediate temporization is often used in the anterior and esthetic region, however, this treatment can also have beneficial results when inserted in the posterior areas. Therefore, the study aimed to analyze the immediate provisionalization, with emphasis on the posterior region. As materials and methods, a theoretical survey was carried out in LILACS, SciELO and PubMed databases, listing eighteen scientific articles published in the years 2010 to 2021, which met the purposes of the research. The results show that there is a trend towards the generation of high success rates and emergencies in immediate provisionalization with immediate loading of implants in the posterior region, although there is no significant number of studies in the area. In the end, we understand that immediate temporization in the posterior region can be beneficial, as long as dental surgeons pay attention to the requirements that directly influence the results, especially the need for primary stability.
